2026 marks 60 years of St Mary’s, Ballybeen. As part of our celebrations, we are embarking on 60 days of prayer together, beginning on Wednesday, September 16. I hope you’ll join us. You can find below a list of prayer points and a prayer you are invited to pray every day over this period, leading up to our Anniversary Celebration Service on Sunday, November 15 when we will be welcoming back as our guest speaker Bishop Ken Clarke, a former curate in our parish.
I hope you’ll join us as we pray that the next 60 years of our life together will be even greater and more fruitful for Christ’s Kingdom than all that has gone before.
A Prayer for our Church
Almighty God, set our hearts on fire with love for you and raise up from among us in St Mary’s another generation of fully surrendered Christ-followers who are so captivated by Christ, so committed to Christ’s call, so shaped by the Scriptures, and so set on fire by the Holy Spirit, that together we, as radical Christ-like disciples and radiant worldwide witnesses, would be willing to go anywhere and do anything and so be used by God to impact our community and our world for Jesus Christ, like never before. Amen.
- – adapted from Dr. Tim Robinson’s prayer for the diocese
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever. Amen.
